@@@不好意思，今天jean哥哥在讲时，我没有反应过来，还在等着单词的出现，可是结束后，我才猛然回想起，原来jean哥哥在一开头就说：今天要讲的是一个概念，而不是词汇。所以没能记下美国四大电影学院（还是机构？） 现在特地奉上美国八大电影公司来弥补。
其实八大有两种不同的说法，早期的八大是指环球；派拉蒙；米高梅；联美；雷电华；华纳；福斯；哥伦比亚；但雷电华倒闭了；米高梅联美合并；所以最开始的八大早已名存实亡，还有一种说法是美国八大电影公司指的是：
1、华纳（WarnerBros'） 2、哥伦比亚（Colombia）
3、20世纪福斯（20thCenturyFOX） 4、派拉蒙（Paramount）
5、环球（Universal） 6A（UnitedArtist）（007）
7、MGM（MetroDogwynMayer） 8、华德迪斯尼（WaltDisney）
目前的八大应该是环球；派拉蒙；米高梅/联美；华纳；福斯；哥伦比亚/三星；博伟；新线（注：MGM已经被收购，so现在的八大是什么，还没有一个定论）
只有美国八大电影公司出版的DVD影片才有区码限制，而非DVD原始规格的规定，也就是说，非美国八大电影公司出版的DVD影片都没有区域限制，一般称为自由区域码FreeRegionCode或称全区片。
